UFC Fight Night 26 Main Event: Melvin Guillard vs. Jim Miller

The UFC's debut on the FX channel has just received one of the more explosive main events of the new year as Lightweights Melvin Guillard (29-9-2-1NC) and Jim Miller (20-3) have agreed to face each other January 30th.

Both Gillard and Miller are highly regarded Lightweights who are both in the top 10 rankings and were each one win away from a title shot before getting derailed by Joe Lauzon and Benson Henderson respectively.

On a mission to get back to their winning ways and prove their losses were flukes, the matchup is sure to be an exciting back and forth contest between two of the most exciting fighters in the UFC.

Melvin Guillard is arguably the best striker in the UFC Lightweight devision with incredible power attached to his unmatched speed. With seven finishes in his 15 UFC appearances, if Guillard is able to connect with Jim Miller's chin it could be lights out for the New Jersey native.

Jim Miller was widely considered the number one contender for the Lightweight championship before fighting Benson Henderson in August. Picking up seven consecutive victories before the Henderson fight, Miller is an excellent wrestler who does not have any weaknesses in his game. An incredibly hard working fighter who always finds ways to win, Miller is a dangerous opponent for anyone in the Lightweight devision.

Also announced for the card is a Heavyweight contest pitting hard hitting kick boxer Pat Barry vs. Christian Morecraft and a very exciting Welterweight slugfest between two of the toughest man in all of MMA as Josh Neer vs. Dwayne “Bang” Ludwig will throw leather in what is sure to be an explosive fight.

The UFC on FX debut titled UFC Fight Night 26 already has two great match ups and now features an amazing main event with title implications and it all takes place live from Nashville, TN. January 20th.
