Busta Rhymes Signs To Cash Money Records

Late last night, game changing news broke in the world of hip-hop, when it was announced that Busta Rhymes had signed to Cash Money Records as their newest member.

The signing came out of left field, as their were no clues that Busta was close to signing with Birdman, Lil' Wayne and the rest of the Cash Money team.

Already a legend in hip-hop, the question still needs to be asked, if signing with Cash Money was the right choice for the Flip Mode general to make.

With hip-hop turning into somewhat of a sports franchise, where labels are stockpiling talent to compete with one another like the NBA or NFL, for Cash Money the signing of Busta Rhymes was a great move.

Busta instantly makes Cash Money a much tougher team and depending on taste arguably the best hip-hop group today. With other forces such as Eminem's Shady 2.0 which features Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf as well as Rick Ross' MMG which consists of Wale, Meek Mill and Pill amongst others, Cash Money is in a prime spot for hip-hop supremacy.

I feel this is a great move for Busta as well in this point of his career. Having already appeared on countless songs with Wayne such as “Look At Me Now” and “I'm So Hood Remix” amongst others, Busta is already comfortable and will not have to change anything up, as his style is so versatile it meshes well with anyone, especially Wayne who is equally as versatile.

As far as backing and financial terms are concerned, Busta and Cash Money is a perfect fit. Good friends with Birdman from years of competing against one another in Funk Master Flex's car shows, Birdman will push Busta and market him correctly, which has unfortunately not been the case for Busta in recent years.

With a first single already released under the new regime titled “Why Stop Now” featuring Chris Brown, I see big things from both Busta and Cash Money in the future and feel this move will make a big impact for hip-hop in all areas.
